For reasons I won’t get into, I’ve got a standing search in my news feed for my name, and I’ve been surprised at how many replicants are out there. One is a state legislator in Ohio, another a young man arrested for residential burglary in Florida, a third a PR guy in Minnesota and yet another an Australian cowboy artist.
What brought all this to mind was this chilling story. Hard to imagine what a cruise-ship entertainer went through in 18 days among the denizens of the Pahrump detention center. Sadly, it’s unlikely anybody will actually get fired for this level of bureaucratic incompetence and callous indifference. But I hope he gets every dime he’s suing for. I mean, the poor guy was in the county jail on Christmas Eve.
